ClearManuals

Manuals Customers Actually Understand

Clear. Simple. Step-by-step.
Written for real people — not engineers.
Clear manuals mean fewer support calls, fewer returns, and happier customers.
Most product manuals frustrate customers, trigger unnecessary support calls, and erode brand trust. ClearManuals fixes that by transforming confusing manuals into clear, intuitive guides that help customers succeed on the first try — reducing complaints, returns, and support workload. When your manual is clear, your product performs better, and so does your business.

The Problem

Most product manuals fail at the one job they’re supposed to do.

Customers say:
  • “The English makes no sense.”

  • “It tells me what to do, not how.”

  • “I had to watch three YouTube videos just to set it up.”

  • “It was obviously written by engineers… for engineers.”

Bad manuals cost companies money:

  • More support calls

  • More product returns

  • Lower customer satisfaction

  • Negative online reviews

  • Warranty claims from user errors

We fix all of that.

Before & After Examples

Drone Quick-Start Guide
BEFORE (Typical Bad Manual)

Starting Fly

  1. Power on aircraft by long pressing the button until light have flashing.

  2. Remote control must be opening and connecting, otherwise drone is not stability.

  3. Calibration gyroscope need doing on level ground with correct compass rotation gesture (see Fig 5, not included).

  4. If aircraft drifting, adjust stick to opposite direction until normal conditions.

  5. Please avoid flying near metal buildings or wind blowing too strong. Fly at own risk.

AFTER (ClearManuals Version — Clean, Safe, Confidence-Building)
Quick Start Your Drone
1. Power On
  • Press and hold the Power button on the drone for 3 seconds

  • The light will flash green when it’s ready

2. Connect the Remote
  1. Turn on the remote control

  2. Wait for the remote light to turn solid green

  3. The drone and remote are now connected.

3. Calibrate (Important for stable flight)
  1. Place the drone on flat ground

  2. Push both control sticks down and inward for 3 seconds

  3. The lights will flash blue, then turn green again
    → Calibration complete

4. Take Off
  • Press the Auto-Takeoff button

  • The drone will rise to 1.2 metres and hover

5. If the Drone Drifts
  • Press the Trim Reset button on the remote

  • Wait for the drone to stabilise

6. Safety Tips
  • Avoid flying near metal structures

  • Don’t fly in strong wind

  • Keep the drone in sight at all times

Why this is better
  • Replaces vague phrases (“fly at own risk”, “not stability”) with specific actions

  • Adds missing details (stick positions, colours, timing)

  • Builds user confidence — critical for first-time drone flyers

  • Removes jargon and unclear references to non-included diagrams

  • Reduces fear and uncertainty in a high-risk device

❌ Battery Charger Manual - Before (Original Text)

Instructions

Dear customer. Hello! In order to prolong the service life of the charger. Charger 220V voltage, the maximum current is recommended 90%, for example 60A, it is most appropriate to adjust to about 54A. 110V voltage and current maximum is recommended 80%, 100V voltage and current maximum is recommended 70%.

• 60A/50A/85A/100A charger special instructions: First plug the charger into the power supply —— look at the voltage —— adjust the voltage —— then connect the load —— then adjust the current.

Step 1: Do not connect the battery to the charger, turn on the power supply, adjust the voltage knob to adjust the voltage, refer to the voltage display at the top of the display screen. (4S lifepo4 battery 3.65V*4 = 14.6V, 3S lithium battery 4.2V *3=12.6V), adjust to the voltage you need (you can adjust the voltage with a multimeter. There will be slight errors on the display screen..).

Step 2: set the current to the minimum. After connecting the battery, adjust the current from small to large to the current you need. The voltage knob is not allowed to be adjusted again during the charging process, otherwise overcharge or undercharge will occur, (the host may be burned down.) if the voltage is displayed and the current changes to zero, it means it is fully charged.

Step 3: When using later (the voltage has been set for the first time, and it does not need to be set later—— connect the battery first (this is important to protect the charger!) —— then connect the power supply —— to follow this step for later use, and do not need to adjust the voltage and current (unless you want to modify)

Do not adjust the charger voltage when charging. The voltage of the charger itself fluctuates, so it is normal to charge the battery at constant voltage. When the battery is full, the current on the charger display screen will show zero or close to zero.

✅ Battery Charger Manual - After the Rewrite

Clean, structured, safe, and easy to follow. Notice how it now reads like a real manual.

Important Safety Notes
  • Always set the voltage before connecting the battery.

  • Do not adjust the voltage during charging.

  • Incorrect voltage settings may damage the charger or battery.

Recommended Maximum Current Settings

To get the longest life out of your charger life, do not let the charging current exceed the following recommended maximums of this charger which is a 60A model.

Input Voltage 220V - Recommended Max Current 90% of rated current (e.g., 60A → set to ~54A)

Input Voltage 110V - Recommended Max Current 80% of rated current (e.g., 60A → set to ~48A)

Input Voltage 100V - Recommended Max Current 70% of rated current (e.g., 60A → set to ~42A)

Charging Instructions
Step 1 — Set the Voltage (No Battery Connected)
  1. Plug the charger into the power outlet.

  2. Turn on the charger.

  3. Use the Voltage Adjustment knob to set the correct charging voltage.

  4. Refer to the display screen or confirm using a multimeter.

Typical voltage settings:
  • 4-cell LiFePO₄: 14.6V (3.65V × 4)

  • 3-cell Lithium-ion: 12.6V (4.2V × 3)

Note: Slight variations in the display are normal.

Step 2 — Connect the Battery and Set the Current
  1. Turn the Current Adjustment knob to the minimum setting.

  2. Connect the battery to the charger.

  3. Slowly increase the charging current to the desired level.

  4. Do not change the voltage setting during charging.

  5. Charging is complete when the display shows the current dropping to zero or near zero.

Step 3 — Using the Charger Again

Once the correct voltage has been set the first time, you do not need to adjust it again.

For future charging sessions:

  1. Connect the battery first (important — protects the charger).

  2. Plug in the charger and turn on the power.

  3. Adjust the current only if required.

Charging Behaviour
  • It is normal for the charger’s output voltage to fluctuate slightly during charging.

  • When the battery is full, the current will drop to zero or near zero.
